stuff·finder is a home inventory app (know where your things are), with optional family sharing. We kept this policy plain and honest: we collect the minimum, we don't sell data, we show no ads, and we don't put you into third-party analytics.

What data we process

On your device (by default). Your whole inventory — item names, locations, notes, photos — is stored only on your device by default. With sync off, nothing leaves your phone (aside from any standard OS backups you control).

When you enable sync (to keep your data safe and share your inventory across devices/ family), the following is sent to our server:

Email address	Passwordless sign-in (one-time code) and linking your account to a household
Inventory content (names, locations, notes)	Syncing across the household's devices
Item photos	Syncing images across the household's devices
A technical device identifier	An app-generated internal id used to merge changes correctly (not a hardware or advertising id)

We do not collect: precise location, contacts, advertising identifiers, browsing history, health or financial data.

Who can access it

• Only members of your household. Synced data is visible only to devices that joined the same family space via your invite.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising or any other outside purpose.

Processors (hosting/delivery)

Data is processed by our technical providers solely to make the app work:

• Railway — server and database hosting.
• Tigris / Railway Object Storage — photo storage (S3-compatible).
• Resend — delivery of the one-time sign-in code email.

Transfers happen over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS).

Retention and deletion

• Server data is kept while your account is active.
• Deleting your account (in the app → "Manage" → delete account) removes your account and the household data you own from the server; photos are removed by a background storage cleanup. Local data stays on your device until you uninstall the app or remove the space manually.
• One-time sign-in codes and unused invites expire and are cleaned up automatically.

Children

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We'll publish updates to this policy at the same address with an updated "Effective" date.
